This course helps you refine your technique, build confidence, and unlock new levels of freediving ability - all at a pace that feels right for you.

Who Can Join?

To enrol, you must:

• Be 15 years or older
• Hold a PADI Freediver certification
• Have a current First Aid certificate (This can be completed individually at Divezone Whitianga)

What the Course Includes

1. Knowledge Development

Learn advanced freediving techniques, training methods, and equipment considerations through PADI Freediver eLearning.

(Your instructor may run class sessions if eLearning is not available in your language.)

2. Confined Water Training

Refine your breath‑hold and relaxation skills, including:

• Stretching and relaxation techniques
• Static apnea
• Dynamic apnea

Performance goals:

• 2 min 30 sec static apnea

(2 minutes for divers under 18)

• 50 m dynamic apnea

(40 m for divers under 18)

3. Open Water Sessions

Develop deeper freediving skills, including:

• Free immersion dives
• Constant weight dives
• Advanced buddy procedures
• Rescue techniques

Performance goal:

• 20 m constant weight freedive

(15 m for divers under 18)

If you already have the PADI Freediver eLearning, you can begin the Advanced section immediately. You’ll be able to review the basics before moving into the advanced material.
