New Zealand Dive Certificates

These two New Zealand dive qualifications provide a clear, supported pathway from non‑diver to confident, capable diver with experience across core scuba skills and a range of specialty areas, including night diving, wreck diving, deep diving, boat diving, and search and recovery.

Qualification pathways

• NZ Certificate in Diving - (Level 3) Rescue

• NZ Certificate in Diving - (Level 4) Supervision

Both levels are available through full‑time or part‑time study, giving students flexibility to train around school, work, or other commitments.

Where these qualifications can take you

Graduates can continue on to further tertiary study or step directly into roles across the dive industry and wider outdoor recreation sector. With a PADI Divemaster rating, students also gain access to the PADI global employment network, where new job opportunities are posted daily from around the world.

Programmes for schools

These programmes can be delivered in partnership with schools, allowing students to complete their dive training either as a group or individually. Schools can contact us to discuss tailored options for integrating these qualifications into their learning pathways

Medical requirement

For Level 3, the only additional cost outside your course fees may be the required recreational dive medical if you answer YES to questions 3, 5 or 10 on page one, or to any question on page two.

For Level 4, the only additional cost outside your course fees is the required signed recreational dive medical. You’re welcome to complete this before arriving in Whitianga - medical certificates are valid for 12 months and will cover your entire programme.
